About Jamie Jupiter
Jamie Jupiter's eclectic sound moves between genres with a light touch, catchy lyrics and warm performances. Born and raised in Cape Town in a musical, theatrical household, he began his 20-year career as a percussionist and harmonica player in the city's Observatory music scene, then as guitarist for glam-rock outfit The Honeymoon Suites.
Since releasing his first album A Brighter Life in 2004, he's played African instruments with the Menjaro Project on a world tour, performed in the cabaret show Angels on Horseback, and toured with Korreltjie Kantel, a SAMA-nominated Afrikaans poetry show. He also runs Ubuntu Drum Fun, his own djembe drumming facilitation company.
