Short answers here — with links to the full pages where the detail lives.
The basics
When and where is Earthdance Cape Town 2026?
18–20 September 2026 at Kromrivier Farm, on the R406 between Greyton and Riviersonderend in the Western Cape — about two hours' drive from Cape Town. Gates open at 12:00 on Friday; music ends at 16:00 on Sunday. See Practical Info for directions.
How do tickets work?
Tickets are sold through Quicket. You can pay once-off, or use a payment plan spread over three months.
Is there an age limit?
Yes — no under-18s, and IDs are checked at the gate. At the other end: over-60s attend free. Just bring a valid ID and present it at the gate.
What music can I expect?
Full-spectrum: psytrance, techno, drum & bass and acoustic, spread across two stage worlds — the warmer, community-held Mellow Meadow and the more kinetic, dancefloor-led Sonic Horizon. The dancefloor is central, but so are workshops, ceremonies and gathering spaces — see About Earthdance.
What is the Prayer for Peace?
The synchronised moment shared by every Earthdance gathering on the planet. In Cape Town, it lands at 01:00 SAST on Saturday 19 September 2026. It is the centre of the whole event. Read the full story on the Prayer for Peace page.
What are Heart, Beat and Humanity?
Warm-up gatherings on the road to September — each one a chapter of this year's theme, Heart and Beat of Humanity. Heart already happened at Love in a Bowl in Hout Bay; Beat is on 18 July 2026; Humanity is the next chapter and will be announced soon. The whole arc is on the Journey to September page.
What is Love in a Bowl?
A community farm in Hout Bay that grows organic vegetables to help feed its town — and the place where the 2026 journey began. They're a community partner of the festival. Read the story.
Staying on site
Can I camp? Can I sleep in my vehicle?
Yes — Earthdance is a camping festival. Bring your own tent and gear, or use the designated vehicle camping areas for cars, camper vans and bakkies. Details on the Glamping & Camping page.
Is there glamping?
Yes — ready-set canvas glamping tents for two with mattresses and bedding included, in regular and large sizes, with shaded versions: R3,000–R4,500. There's also a BYO camp & park option at R350. All bookable now on Quicket, on the same page as tickets — details on Glamping & Camping.
What's the weather like in September?
Spring in the Overberg: warm days, cold nights and a real chance of rain. Pack sun protection and serious warm layers — the what-to-bring guide covers it properly.
Can I make a fire at my camp?
No — no private fires of any kind. There is a central sacred fire at the Mellow Meadow, and that is the place to gather around flames.
Can I swim?
In the river, yes — expect cold spring water. No swimming in the dam, and no swimming at night.
Can I bring glass? My dog?
Neither. Decant everything out of glass before you arrive, and leave pets at home.
Money, connectivity and safety
Are there card payments? Should I bring cash?
There is no ATM on site. Vendors will have wi-fi for card payments, but bring some cash as backup.
Will I have cell reception?
Very little. Download directions before you leave and make plans with your people in advance.
Is there a bar?
Yes — a combination of alcoholic drinks and nootropic energy drinks.
What about safety?
The event runs a disaster management plan with security on site, inside a community-based mutual care model. Look after yourself and the people around you.
Getting involved
How do I apply for a stall?

How do I volunteer?
See the Volunteers page for roles and process, then send the volunteer application.
I run workshops / yoga / talks — can I offer a session?
